Every year The Volunteer Center of Lehigh Valley sponsors a Volunteer Challenge which is a collaboration between businesses and nonprofits for completion of sustainable projects. Thirteen teammates at Brown & Brown of Lehigh Valley took that challenge and recently gave the gym at the Third Street Alliance for Women and Children in Easton, Pennsylvania a much needed face lift – renovating the doors, cleaning, painting and refinishing surfaces. The Third Street Alliance for Women and Children provides a safe and healthy space for women, children, and families to live, learn and thrive.
The Volunteer Center also hosts a recognition event to celebrate the many achievements and impact that volunteers have made. This year, Brown & Brown of Lehigh Valley won the most votes for a medium size company, and that marks the fourth year in a row that a project for the Third Street Alliance has won.
“The Volunteer Challenge is a great way to give back to the community. Our teammates did a great job for a great organization” said P.J. Vrabel, Team Leader for Employee Benefits at Brown & Brown. Mr. Vrabel is also a Board Member at The Volunteer Center of Lehigh Valley, a resource on volunteerism for the Lehigh Valley and surrounding communities.
Brown & Brown of Lehigh Valley encourages teammates’ volunteerism and giving back to the community through the variety of regional charities and organizations that brokerage joins forces with.
